DNP3 EIE
The DNP3 EIE enables a CygNet host to communicate with field devices that support the industry standard DNP3 (Distributed Network Protocol) protocol. Like most CygNet EIEs, the DNP3 EIE is a template-driven EIE.
DNP3 Protocol requires the use of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). The Display Name drop-down menu of the Time Zone page on the Device Editor must be set to "(UTC) Coordinated Universal Time". If not already defined, ensure that you properly define and install a CygNetTimeZones.xml file to include the UTC drop-down time zone option for the DNP3 EIE.
Integrity polling is supported by the DNP3 EIE. Polling of events occurs by class (classes 1-3, followed by class 0) in a single message, and retrieved data is sorted into Events and All Points types.
See Time Zone Page in the Devices section for more information.
